An OC engagement :: Nicholle + Jason

Happy May 1st. Wanted to start the month off with a super sweet engagement session. Jason is a Marine and just got stationed at Camp Pendleton. I have a special place in my heart for our service men as my twin brother is a Marine and served 3 tours in Iraq. Needless to say, I jumped at the chance to photograph Nicholle and Jason. They are such a sweet couple and so in love. I wish them all the best!

An Ojai engagement :: Kyle + Christina

Happy Monday. Wanted to share an engagement session that I shot on Easter Sunday in Ojai. First off, Ojai is so quaint and cute and I want to live in a house there that is surrounded by orange trees. 

Can't wait for Kyle and Christina's art deco themed wedding happening late in May. I think it's going to be a wedding to remember. Enjoy!

Feeling giddy.

Have I told you lately how much I love my job? For instance, last week I got to location scout for an engagement session later this month in beautiful San Juan Capistrano and on Easter Sunday I got to photograph a different engagement session in Ojai. I now am trying to convince my husband that we should move there. It's so cute and I love the small town vibe. It's a perfect place for an awesome wedding that I get to photograph at the end of May. Cannot wait!
For the most part, everyone I've encountered, whether it's the bride and groom, planners, florists, caterers, etc., everyone is happy. They are passionate about what they are doing and loving it.
Earlier this year, I met two insanely awesome gals Carson and Kathleen. They are the ladies behind the Itty Bitty Party Committee. They plan wedding and events and have some serious fun doing it. I got the chance to photograph their First Annual Sparkle Party recently and it was a lot of fun. Even the dog was smiling. They are so awesome that they even did a blog post about me and my work. Ashley + Manny = Engaged

One of my best friends is getting married and I couldn't be happier. I had the pleasure of photographing their engagement session and chose to shoot them at Hatfield Orchids in Oxnard, CA. A perfect backdrop for a beautiful couple.

Cannot believe that we are in March. The past few months have flown by! And they have been filled to the brim with fun wedding events.

Today though, I had a surprise email waiting for me in my inbox letting me know that the wedding that Melanie and I had stylized ourselves is featured on The Collection Event Studio's blog. Eeeehh!! We are thrilled and so honored.
Also, have I mentioned lately how much I love my job? I get to hang out with people who are so in love and vendors who LOVE what they do. It doesn't get any better.

Utterly Engaged shin dig.

I had so much fun last night at the Utterly Engaged party. There were 13 talented groups that collaborated to create a sweetheart table. The winner will be announced March 19th in the next issue of UE mag. I met a lot of super passionate vendors who love what they do and it shows. Looking forward to the Cream event tonight to meet some more.
There were some really great color palette ideas and I loved the painted succulents on table #13 and the sequined table cloth on the Cupcakes and Cutlery team table. I'm sold on anything with glitter or sequins on it.  I thought the Gather table had a really ambitious way to present their cake. It was beautiful. And if you were wondering, yes that is a flower sushi roll. Amazing!! (made by Bride and Bloom who was teamed with the Itty Bitty Party Committee table.) The IBPC gals also know how to make numerous animal origami and they enjoy doing it. :)
