the day after an amazing wedding in SLO with melanie duerkopp, i asked if she would take my portrait. let's just say that i LOVE being behind the camera and not in front of it. i should have taken a shot of tequila to loosen up. :) there were quite a few to choose from, but i really love these 2 shots. one that's more candid and the other that's more traditional. melanie did an great job with the talent she had to work with. ;) next time, tequila.

andreas + maita = married

this was a very sweet wedding in seattle that i shot with melanie duerkopp. the couple was very laid back even with rain in the morning and a threat of rain throughout the day.  the billowy clouds and the willow tree were a stunning backdrop to their ceremony. it was lovely. congrats andreas and maita!!

derek + jenae = proposal

last week i was flattered at the opportunity to photograph friends of mine getting engaged. derek's family was coming to visit him in manhattan beach for 4th of July and he thought it was a perfect opportunity to set up a proposal session and disguise it with family portraits.  the plan worked and he got down on one knee underneath the pier at the surprise to his now fiance jenae. they are such a fun couple and i couldn't be happier for them!!!!
congrats derek and jenae! enjoy the engagement.

spring: stylized wedding

the lovely melanie duerkopp and i styled, produced, scouted this wedding ourselves. we were inspired by the bright spring colors and were like kids in a candy store when we were in the flower market in san francisco. what an amazing place! this was shot in a private backyard in marin, which was perfect for our props that even included a sweets table. the 'bride & groom' are really married and had no problem acting the part in front of the camera.

the bride is a graphic designer and designed the faux invitations. they were gorgeous! check out katie king rumford's work here.

these two beautiful people are josh and rebecca. they had a rustic wedding in butte meadows, which is just north of chico. their daughter brianne was so thrilled to be marrying her daddy! they are a beautiful couple and i'm so happy that i got to take part in the occasion. congrats josh and rebecca!!
