Stylized Wedding.

Happy February 1st to you. Excited to share a stylized wedding inspired by blush, black and gold.
Our location was the Gardner Building in Ventura. It is a converted bank that is owned by the Watermark restaurant right up the street. This building is stunning with the high ceilings and large windows. It would be a great place to host a reception after saying your vows on the beach or if you don't want to get sand in your feet, the Mission is super close and the courthouse is a stones throw.
I'm obsessed with Lette Macarons. Delicious tasting and looking. Why not put them on a cake?
We asked Katie King Rumford to create an art deco invitation package with our colors blush, gold, black and white. (She also created my branding!)
Shoes are from Milk and Honey. Amazing site that you can customize your shoes.
The gorgeous hair and makeup was done by Erin LeBre. Love the organic hairstyle she did and the natural makeup.

Will & Liana :: Paramount Ranch, CA

I had so much fun photographing Will and Liana at the Paramount Ranch for some updated portraits. They had called on me because their most recent portraits are from their wedding 3 years ago.  I immediately thought of the Paramount Ranch. I have shot here before and love the variety it holds in one location. It is an old movie set and they used to film Dr. Quinn there!

Will and Liana are such a fun couple and and a little goofy, which I love.  Their love and energy made for a great shoot. (The warm morning light streaming thru the large oak tree didn't hurt either!!) Enjoy!

boop.
love this candid goofy moment!!

a fall classic.

Family Portraits: Stokes, Twain Harte, CA

I've been doing a lot of family portraits lately. Tis' the season. Here's one of my favorite families ever. My lovely sister, her husband and two of my most favorite little people on earth.

Serious pose.

Goofy pose. Most like them in their everyday lives.

Earlier in the day, Christian (left) did not want his picture taken. When we got to the location, I couldn't stop him from hamming it up for the camera. I think he has a modeling career in his future. Mason on the other hand, there was a major glare coming off of the snow. :) Loving the striped socks though.

Love.

They've been together for 11 years already!

me.

the day after an amazing wedding in SLO with melanie duerkopp, i asked if she would take my portrait. let's just say that i LOVE being behind the camera and not in front of it. i should have taken a shot of tequila to loosen up. :) there were quite a few to choose from, but i really love these 2 shots. one that's more candid and the other that's more traditional. melanie did an great job with the talent she had to work with. ;) next time, tequila.

andreas + maita = married

this was a very sweet wedding in seattle that i shot with melanie duerkopp. the couple was very laid back even with rain in the morning and a threat of rain throughout the day.  the billowy clouds and the willow tree were a stunning backdrop to their ceremony. it was lovely. congrats andreas and maita!!

enjoy.

the weather in seattle can be unpredictable, but it is always beautiful.

i loved the tree!
the arch was built the day of by the father of the groom. It was amazing!

peonies are my favorite!

their walk down the aisle ended with a second kiss as husband and wife. :)

the guys.
the guys again.

this was a very cute moment.

i had to take advantage of the large windows and the gorgeous window light.
